A Venetian-style lagoon carved out of coral rock, this historic pool features caves, stone bridges and waterfalls. The Venetian Pool is perhaps the only swimming pool anywhere to be included in the National Register of Historic Places. This 820,000-gallon pool is fed with cool spring water daily, and features two waterfalls, coral caves, and grottos.

The Venetian-style architecture surrounding this historic pool was designed by Denman Fink. He was the uncle of George Merrick, the founding father of Coral Gables. Together with architect Phineas Paist, they transformed an unsightly rock pit into the world's most beautiful swimming hole, complete with expansive loggias, porticos, a palm-fringed island, beach and cobble-stone bridge.

Today, over 100,000 visitors a year come to Venetian Pool. And three generations of Coral Gables residents, together with their Miami neighbors, have taken swimming lessons here. We invite you and your family to explore our historic pool’s beautiful surroundings and swim in the cool, clear water.
